Gooey Butter Cookies

1 stick of butter, at room temp

1 (8 oz) block of cream cheese

1-1/2 cup sugar

1 tsp vanilla

1 egg

2-1/4 cups flour

1/2 cup powdered milk

3 tsp baking powder

1/2 cup confectioners' sugar


Preheat oven to 350°F


Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.


Directions:


In a stand alone mixer, beat butter, cream cheese, sugar and egg until well blended and smooth. add vanilla.


In a medium bowl, mix flour, powdered milk, and baking powder until well blended. Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, beating as you add.


Add the 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar to a small plate.


Scoop a tablespoon of the dough and roll it into a ball. Roll the ball of dough into the confectioners' sugar and place it onto the parchment lined baking sheet. Repeat until you have a full baking sheet. Make sure to leave about 2 inches of space between all sides of each ball.


Bake 10-12 minutes. and place on a cooling rack to cool.

Repeat until all dough is made into cookies.
