French Toast Quiche

Updated: Dec 4, 2020

Why hasn't anyone thought of French Toast Quiche before now? I mean french toast and quiche are both made from eggs, so it only makes since to turn this usually savory dish into a delicious dessert or breakfast dish!

5 eggs + 2 eggs

1-1/2 cup + 1/4 cup half & half

3/4 cup 100% pure maple syrup

1/2 cup + 3 TBSP sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

7 slices of sandwich bread

100% Pure Maple syrup for drizzle

Preheat oven to 350°F

Spray a 9" pie pan with nonstick oil spray.

Directions:

In a small bowl, crack 2 eggs. Add 1/4 cup half and half and 3TBSP sugar. Whisk until it is mixed.

Quickly dip each side of the 7 slices of bread into the egg mixture and place each dipped piece of bread in the bottom of the pie dish (see photo below) It doesn't have to look pretty and its ok if there are some dry spots. They will be covered soon enough. We do this step to make the concentration of egg higher in the bread area.

Place in oven and bake for 15 minutes to create a crust.

In a stand alone mixer w/ whisk attachment or a bowl with beaters or whisk by hand--Add 5 eggs, 1-1/2 cup half and half, 3/4 cup pure maple syrup, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 2 tsp cinnamon, and 1/2 tsp nutmeg. Beat for about 1 minute on medium speed.

Now, pour the beaten egg mixture over the bread crust.

Bake for approximately 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out of the center clean. Cool a bit. Cut and serve with 100% Pure Maple drizzle.
