1 (12-oz) bag of fresh cranberries
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
orange zest
Directions:
In a medium saucepan, squeeze or pour 1 cup of orange juice, 1/2 cup water, and 1/2 cup sugar. Stir until well blended and bring it all to a boil.
Add cranberries to boiling mixture and stir to mix. Turn low down to medium low and simmer the mixture until it becomes thick. This will take about 8-10 minutes. Don't worry when you hear popping. Popping in a normal reaction of the cranberries when you cook them.
When cranberry sauce is at your desired consistency, remove it from heat and stir in about 2 TBSP fresh orange zest. Remember, the sauce will thicken as it stands, too. You should remove it when it is a little less thick than what you desire.
Chill thoroughly and serve chilled with fresh orange zest as a garnish.
