Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

These soft, gooey chocolate chip cookie bars are a true treat! Make a batch today! #SoNomNom4u #ChocolateChipCookieBars #Vegetarian

2-1/2 cup all purpose flour

1 tsp. Baking Soda

1 tsp. salt

2 sticks (1/2 cup) butter (room temp or melted)

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

1-1/2 cup dark brown sugar

1 cup chocolate chip of your choice. ( we love Ghiradelli and Trader Joes chips!)

PREHEAT OVEN to 375°F

Directions:

In a stand alone mixer bowl or large bowl, add butter and brown sugar. Beat until creamed together. Add vanilla and eggs, beat until everything is well blended and smooth. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda and salt. Add Flour mixture slowly while the mixer is on. (We use the flour guard to avoid a huge mess!) when all flour is added, turn off mixer and pour in chips. Mix by hand.

Line an iron skillet or 9"x13" baking dish with parchment and pour the cookie dough into the dish. If using a 9"x13" glass dish, pour it all in. If using an iron skillet, do this in 2 batches--unless you want super-thick cookie bars! Smooth out the dough and place the pan of dough in the oven to bake.

Bake approximately 20-25 minutes. Ovens vary. Also, iron skillets cook in less time. Check in 20 minutes and add time if necessary. Cookie bars are done when a toothpick comes out clean.

Remove from oven and place dish on cooking rack to cool. Cut and serve. SO delicious!
