2 large onions

1-1/2 cups + 1/2 cup flour

1 can or bottle of beer

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp salt

1 tsp cayenne

1 tsp worcestershire sauce

Preheat Deep fryer oil or a pot of oil filled 1/3 full to 375°F

Directions:

In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, beer, paprika, salt, cayenne and worcestershire sauce until it is smooth and there are no lumps. Let stand for about 15 minutes.

Slice the onions into 1/2" thick slices and separate them into individula rings. Place all the rings into a large zipper bag and shake them up with 1/2 cup of flour.

Remove onion slices from the flour bag and dunk each on individually into the thick batter. Place it immediately into the hot deep fryer oil and dunk the next, repeating the process until you have about 5-7 onions frying at the same time. Do not over-crowd the fryer. Stir the rings in the oil occasioanlly and remove them when they are a nice golden color and they appear crispy. Drain on paper towels or cooling rack and season with salt immediately out of the fryer. Repeat until all onion rings are made. Serve hot! These taste great with a fresh Meatball Panini!
