Chocolate Mousse

Chocolate Mousse is a very decadent treat! If you never had it, imagine that your favorite chocolate pudding and fresh whipped cream breeded! So delicious! #SoNomNom4u #ChocolateMousee #Vegetarian



2/3 cup 80% chocolate, broken into pieces

1 TBSP butter

2 eggs, divided

1/2 cup heavy cream


Directions:

In a small double boiler, heat the chocolate lightly until it is melted. Do not heat hot or too long. Remove from heat. Stire in butter. Add 2 egg yolks and whisk until completely blended. Set aside to cool a bit.


In a stand alone mixer with the whisk attachment, beat 1/2 cup heavy cream until peaks form. Set aside


In a clean stand alone mixer bowl with a whisk attachment, beat the whites of 2 eggs until peaks form.


Gently fold in the egg whites and the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture. Do not stir, beat or whisk. Gently fold them in so they remain fluffy.


Pour chocolate mousse into individual serving dishes and chill completely. Serve alone or with a dollop of fresh whipped cream.


If you want to get fancy, make a white chocolate mousse, too and layer the colored mousses in each dish.


White Chocolate Mousse:

2/3 cup white chocolate, broken into pieces

1 TBSP butter

2 eggs, divided

1/2 cup heavy cream


Prepare the same as the chocolate mousse states int he instructions above.
